Robert was born about 1871 in Dalton, Lancashire, England.1   Robert's father was Thomas Longmire and his mother was Jane Williamson.  His paternal grandfather is James Longmire and his paternal grandmother was Mary Longmire; his maternal grandparents are Joseph Williamson and Ann Grave.  He had three brothers and three sisters, named Joseph, James, William, Mary Ann, Elizabeth and Margt.Jane.  He died on February 14th, 1919 in Fovant Military Hospital.  His burial was on February 20th, 1919 in Dalton Cemetary.2 3
