David was born on August 23rd, 1904 in 24 Fisher Street, Barrow in Furness, Lancashire, England.1   David's father is George Stanley Devereux and his mother was Emma Jane Corlett.  His paternal grandfather was George Devereux and his paternal grandmother is Euphemia Cormode; his maternal grandparents are William Corlett and Emma Corlett.  He had two brothers and a sister, named George Joseph, William Joseph and Mona.  He died at the age of 74 on June 5th, 1979 in 14 Ainslie Dale, Dalton in Furness.2
