Thomas was born on December 24th, 1873 in Richmond, Ontario, Canada. Thomas' father was James Leverton and his mother was Kezia Elvin. His paternal grandparents were James Leverton and Elizabeth Draydon; his. He was the fifth of six children. He had two brothers and three sisters, named John, Walter, Elizabeth, Sarah and Frances. He died in Ontario, Canada.
