Richard was born on November 5th, 1838 in St Mawgan, Conwall, England. Richard's father was James Leverton and his mother was Elizabeth Draydon. His paternal grandparents were John Leverton and Sarah Cockin; his. He was the second of four children. He had three brothers named James, <Unknown> and <Unknown>.
