George was born on January 12th, 1800 in suffolk, stonham.  George's father was James Bridges and his mother was Elizabeth Scott.  His paternal grandparents were Ruben Bridges and Rachel Sewel; his maternal grandparents were  John Scott and  <Unknown>.  He was the seventh of nine children.  He had four brothers and four sisters, named James, James, Reuben, William, Elizabeth, Martha, Elizabeth and Mary.
