Katri was born in 1825.  Katri's father was Mihkel Pott and her mother was Anu Pott.  Her maternal grandparents were Hans and Ello. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Ado, Rein, Jaan, Ann and Mai.  She was the fourth oldest of the six children.
