Peep was born in 1769. Peep's father was Jaan and his mother was Katri. His paternal grandparents were Andres and Ann. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Hans, Evert, Peeter, Eva, Ann and Krõõt. He was the second oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 16 in 1785.
