Katri was born in 1862.  Katri's father was Bernhard Krimses and her mother was Eva Krimses (Possul).  Her paternal grandparents were Jaan Krimses and Eva Krimses. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Hans, Hindrik, Liis and Leenu.  She was the third oldest of the five children.
