Matts was born in 1734.  Matts' father was Erik Eriksson Bjon (Orava) and his mother was Lisa Eriksdotter Bjon.  His maternal grandparents were Erik Eriksson Bjon and Maria Knutsdotter.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 63 in 1797.
