Stefan's father is Ceslew Stanislaw Szajner and his mother is Sieuwetje van den Kommer.  His maternal grandparents are  Cornelis  Rudolf van den Kommer - (B tak) and  Wilhelmina Hendrica  Claassen.  He is the youngest of five children.  He has a brother and three sisters, named Alexander, Apolonia, Marian and Zuzanna.
