Apolonia's father is Ceslew Stanislaw Szajner and her mother is Sieuwetje van den Kommer.  Her maternal grandparents are  Cornelis  Rudolf van den Kommer - (B tak) and  Wilhelmina Hendrica  Claassen.  She is the oldest of five children.  She has two brothers and two sisters, named Alexander, Stefan, Marian and Zuzanna.
