Aranka was born on September 11th, 1858 in Cselfalu and her baptism took place on November 19th, 1858 in Komlós.1 2  Aranka's father was Gábor Felsőásgúthi Körtvélyessy and her mother was Lenke Körtvélyessy.  Her paternal grandparents were István Ásguthi Körtvélyessy and Sarolta Ganczaugh; her maternal grandparents were János 1810-24 Körtvélyessy and Fanni Krisár. She had three brothers and a sister, named Béla, Gábor, Dezső and Anna.  She was the third oldest of the five children.  She died  due to agyvelő gyulladás at the age of 25 on January 9th, 1884 in Cselfalva.  The funeral took place in Komlós.1
