Erzsébet's father was József Körtvélyessy and her mother was Katalin Balogh.  Her paternal grandparents were Ádám Körtvélesi and Zsuzsa Kovatsits. She had three brothers and two sisters, named István, Mátyás, Imre, Barbara and Teréz.  She was the third oldest of the six children.  She died at the age of 80 on February 23rd, 1905 in Ada.¹
