Gregory's father was Thomas Palgrave and his mother was Alice Gunton.  His paternal grandparents were Henry Palgrave and Anne Glenham; his maternal grandfather was Robert Gunton. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Edward, Walter, William, Mary, Margaret and Anne.  He died in August 1617.
