Thomas was born in 1381.  Thomas' father was Richard Fitzalan and his mother was Elizabeth De Bohun.  His paternal grandparents were Richard Fitzalan and Eleanor Plantagenet; his maternal grandfather was William of Northampton de Bohun and his maternal grandmother is Elizabeth Badlesmere. He had a brother and three sisters, named Richard, Margaret, Alice and Elizabeth.
