Martono was born on October 8th, 1958.  Martono's father was M S Mintardjo and his mother was Sulastri . ..  His maternal grandparents were Soekardi . Djojohatmodjo and Soekarti . .. He had four brothers and seven sisters, named H. Muhammad, Bambang, Saptomo, Marwoto, Sri, Endang, Endang, Sri, Endang, Endang  and Hj. Ir. Endang.  He is the nineth oldest of the twelve children.
