Dewanto was born on October 10th, 1974.  Dewanto's father is Dr Sukardja (Kol. TNI AU) and his mother is Endang Harsri Nuksmandari Bchk.  His maternal grandfather is R Harjatmo Pringgosaputro and his maternal grandmother was Sri  Nuksmaningsih. He has three brothers named Suryo Arikusumo, Nur Endro and Ratih Rakhmawati.  He is the third oldest of the four children.
