Jacob was born in 1878 in Kovno, Russia.  Jacob's father is Moishe Schmuel Fleischman and his mother is Asna Gita Shanker.  His paternal grandparents are Gershon Fleyshman and Gite. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Edward, Isadore, Lessa Rifka (Rebecca), Dena and Dora.  He died at the age of 67 in November 1945 in New Jersey.
