Otto was born on October 30th, 1886.  Otto's father was Johann Nickolaus Heinrich and his mother was Kunigunda Henriette Hennig.  His paternal grandparents were Johann Gottfreid Heinrich and .... Horn; his maternal grandparents were Johann Adam Hennig and Anna Katharina Christiana Jahn. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Johann, Johann, Johann, Johann, Johanna, Johanna, Margarete and Emma.  He was the eighth oldest of the nine children.
