Maria was born on December 1st, 1751 in Bilbao - Deusto.  Maria's father was Antonio Leguina (Castillo) and her mother was Maria  Antonia Lorono (Susunaga).  Her paternal grandparents were Joan Leguina (Gallarza) and Concepcion Castillo (Zenagorta); her maternal grandparents were Francisco Lorono (Larrea) and Maria Susunaga (Landeta). She had five brothers and a sister, named Martin, Joseph, Juachin, Juan, Juan and Maria.  She was the fourth oldest of the seven children.  She died at the age of 54 on October 15th, 1806 in Bilbao - Deusto.
