Jacob was born on June 5th, 1773 in Billingheim.  Jacob's father was 046 Ludwig Heinrich Hepp Moellenthiel and his mother was Margarethe Christine Schneltgen Von Langenberg.  His paternal grandparents were 042 Johann Abraham Hepp Welter and Julianne Moellenthiel. He had six brothers and three sisters, named Friedrich, Peter Karl, Heinrich, Johann Karl, Christian, Wilhelm, Christine, Julianne and Maria.  He was the second youngest of the ten children. He had two half-brothers named Johann Adam and Abraham.  He died at the age of 72 on November 2nd, 1845 in New York.
