Auguste was born on July 5th, 1821 in Alsenborn.  Auguste's father was 73 Friedrich Daniel Hepp Bruckner and her mother was Gertrudis Osterheld. She had five brothers and six sisters, named Friedrich, Johann Adam, Philipp, Heinrich, Julius, Adelheid, Elizabeth, Marie, Friedericke, Friedericke and Christine.  She was the fifth oldest of the twelve children.
