John was born in 1795 in Armley, Yorkshire, UK.1   John's father was John REDSHAW and his mother was Hannah DAVISON.  His paternal grandparents are Thomas REDSHAW and Martha BOOTH. He had two brothers and three sisters, named William, Joseph, Sarah, Hannah and Sarah.  He was the fourth oldest of the six children.  He died at the age of 76 in 1871 in Holbeck, Yorkshire, UK.
