Benjamin was born in 1898 in Swinton, Lancashire, UK.  Benjamin's father is Benjamin LYSONS and his mother is Charlotte Ann GLOSSOP.  His maternal grandfather is James GLOSSOP and his maternal grandmother was Emma MARSLAND. He has a brother and two sisters, named Edward, Mary E and Annie.  He is the third oldest of the four children.
