Liza was born in 1899 in Wheatbottom, Helmington Row, Crook.  Liza's father was William Marquis and her mother was Hannah Pease. She had a brother and a sister, named John and Elizabeth.  She was the youngest of the three children.  She died at the age of 86 in 1985.
