Hannah was born in 1852 in Balkholme, Yorkshire, England.  Hannah's father was William Anson and her mother was Miriam Jackson. She had two brothers and a sister, named John, Charles and Mary.  She was the oldest of the four children.  She died at the age of 38 in 1890 in Patrington, East Riding, Yorkshire.
