John (Johnny) NEGICH

John, known as John, was born on October 10th, 1922.¹ John's father was Nicholas NEGICH and his mother was Nellie O'DONNELL. His paternal grandparents were Max NEGICH and Annie; his maternal grandfather is James William O'DONNELL and his maternal grandmother was Mary Jane. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named Nick, George, Robert, James, Peter, Hubert, Harry, Anna and Violet. He was the fifth oldest of the ten children. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Thomas, Sarah and Mary. He diedDec 16th, 2007. He was buried in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont, PA.²

- John Negich, 85, of Delmont, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007. He was born Oct. 10, 1922, in Export, a son of the late Nick and Nellie (O'Donnell) Negich. John was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran and was honorably discharged as a sergeant. He was an avid sportsman, having bagged his last deer at the age of 84. He was a good friend to many and a great father. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret (Orange) Negich; eight brothers, Tom Lapcevic, Nick, George, Robert, James, Hubert, Harry and Pete Negich; and three sisters, Mary Jackson, Anne Stevick and Violet Jurovic. Surviving are two loving sons, John A. Negich and his wife, Paulette, of Butler and Gary W. Negich and his wife, Kim, of Laramie, Wyo.; and three adored grandchildren, J. Brandon, Conan T. and Kylie A. Negich. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends and relatives will be received from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the WOLFE-VON GEIS FUNERAL HOME INC., 5701 Lincoln Ave., Export, 724-327-1400, where services will be held at noon Wednesday with the Rev. Father D.C. Malich officiating. Interment will follow with military honors accorded by the VFW Post 33, Greensburg, in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
