    MOUNT CARMEL — Rose M. Kolovich, 93, of 323 N. Oak St. died Tuesday, May 17, at her residence, following a two-month illness. She had been a patient at Shamokin Area Community Hospital from March 17 to April 17.
    
    Born at 323 N. Oak St., Mount Carmel, on Aug. 31, 1911, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Ososki) Galitski. She was a lifelong resident of Mount Carmel.
    
    She was educated at Our Mother of Consolation School, Mount Carmel, and was a lifelong member of the former Our Mother of Consolation Church, now Divine Redeemer Church.
    
    On Aug. 29, 1934, in Our Mother of Consolation Church, she married Michael Kolovich, who died Dec. 10, 1985.
    
    She was a homemaker and caregiver to her father for five years prior to his death. She loved to bake and cook ethnic dishes, and enjoyed family events.
    
    Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Geraldine and Dan Wychock of Mount Carmel; a special niece whom she raised as a daughter, Sandra Toy, with whom she resided in Mount Carmel; a grandson, Gary Wychock of Santa Monica, Calif.; a granddaughter, Paula Dougherty and her husband, Joseph, of Lititz; two great-grandchildren, Joey and Deena Dougherty of Lititz; two sisters-in-law, Charlotte Weimer and Florence Kolovich, both of Coal Township; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by six brothers, John, Tom, Joseph, Anthony, Stanley and Frank; and two sisters, Frances and Anna.
