Elijah, known as Elijah, was born in June 1859. Elijah's father was Montgomery BELL and his mother was Catharine BATDER. He had two brothers and a sister, named Amos, Leander and Mary. He died due to dropsyMay 10th, 1918. He was buriedMay 14th, 1918 in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Danville, PA.¹

  Well-known Resident Who Was For Many Years Engineer at the Nail Mill.
  
  Elijah H. Bell, a well-know resident of Mahoning township, died at the homestead just above the State Hospital for the Insale, about 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon, following a protracted illness. The cause of the death was dropsy.
  
  Mr. Bell for many years' was engieer at the Nail Mill. He was an industrious and highly respected citizen. He was born at Chulaskey and was son of Montgomery Bell, the family being on old and well-known one.
  
  the decedent was aged fifty-nine years and one day. He is survived by his widow and the following children; Fred M., Allen E., Jesse L. Bell of Danville; Theodore W., Robert M., Grace A., Mabel V., and Mary E. Bell at home; also a brother and sister; Leander N. Bell, Union Springs NY and Mrs. R. B. Penman of Bloomsburg.
  
  The funeral take place from the late residence at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon.
