Tom's father is Thomas Benton Yeager and his mother was Eve Melinda Shoffner. His paternal grandfather was George Yeager and his paternal grandmother is Margaret Craig. He had three brothers and a sister, named George Henry, Martin Simeon, Paul Shoffner and Adeline Virginia "Addie". He died before 1899.-
