Lisa Ann was born on May 19th, 1959 in Somerville, Fayette, Tennessee, USA.1 Lisa Ann's father was Aubrey Anderson Watkins and her mother was Ava Hazel Gammel. Her paternal grandparents were Jessie Edmond "Ed" Watkins and Elizabeth "Lizzy" Tally; her maternal grandparents were John Hillia Gammel and Euphie Mae Houston. She had nine brothers and two sisters, named Jerry Dean, John Ed, John Edward, Aubrey Leon, William Ray, Kenneth Darrell, Jimmy Lynn, Timothy Wayne, Leon, Ava and Hazel Ava. She had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Joe David, Eugene Hazel and Andrey Nelle. She died at the age of 59 on November 12th, 2018 in Memphis, Shelby, Tennessee, USA.General Notes
Lisa Watkins Joyner, age 58, resident of Somerville, Tennessee and wife of Gary Lynn Joyner, departed this life Monday morning, November 12, 2018 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.
A Funeral Service for Mrs. Joyner was held at 1 P.M. Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the Morris Chapel Baptist Church in Somerville. The officiating ministers were Bro. John Ed Watkins, Bro. Matthew Watkins and Bro. Tony Watkins. Special music was provided by Mike Watkins, Tiffany Watkins and John Ed and Donna Watkins. Interment followed in the Morris Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.
Lisa was born May 19, 1960 in Somerville, Tennessee. She was a graduate of Fayette County High School Class of 1978 and was married January 18, 1992 to Gary Joyner. She was employed as an early childhood teacher with the Fayette County Public School System and Morris Chapel Christian School. Lisa enjoyed helping others, vacationing at the beach and going to the mountains with her husband and family. She had a special love for her church, the Evangelical Full Gospel Church in Moscow, Tennessee, where her husband Gary is the pastor.
Lisa leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 26 years, Gary Joyner; two daughters, LaDonna Roberts (Jason) of Morristown, TN, Tonya Siders (Chris) of Walnut, MS; two sons, Brandon Bishop (Crystal German) of Somerville, TN, Duane Joyner (Brandi) of Bolivar, TN; three sisters, Hazel Taylor (Edward) of Memphis, TN, Nelle Burgess (Ross) of Middleton, TN, Ava Pulliam (Harlan) of Somerville, TN; eight brothers, Joe David Watkins (Robbie) of Middleton, TN, John Ed Watkins (Donna) of Hickory Valley, TN, Leon Watkins (Dale) of Somerville, TN, Ray Watkins of Somerville, TN, Kenneth Watkins (Sandra) of Somerville, TN, Jerry Watkins (Karen) of LaGrange, TN, Jimmy Watkins (Shelia) of Somerville, TN, Timothy Watkins (Andrea) of Hickory Valley, TN; eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She also leaves many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly and they all loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Aubrey and Hazel Watkins and two nephews, Steven Watkins and Keith Hawkins.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Kevin Siders, Daniel Siders, Stephen Watkins, Jason Joyner, Josh Gammel and Tray Watkins.
