Mrs. Mat Shephard, Lamar, Miss, died May 29, 1930, Aged 78 years. She was the mother of Mrs. Arlina Frost, Rossville, Tenn, Mrs B. H. Hunsucker, Lamar, Miss, Mrs. Lizzie Sneed, Capleville, Tenn, Mrs Fannie Wilson and Mrs. Mat Gray, Lamar, Miss. She leaves thirty six grand children and was a member of the M. E. Church. She was born in North Carolina and moved to Benton County when 12 years of age. Service were conducted by Rev. Williams of Lamar, Miss, in Early Grove, M.E. Church, at three o'clock Thursday.
