Josiah was born about 1804. Josiah's father was Hardy Jr Hurdle and his mother was Christian Outlaw. His paternal grandfather was Hardy Sr Hurdle and his paternal grandmother is Sarah. He had six brothers and two sisters, named James Isaac, Henry, George, Thomas, Benjamin, Jacob Outlaw, Nancy and Rachel. He had two half-sisters named Mildred and Sarah. He died on January 30th, 1855 in Alamance, North Carolina, USA.-
