  • Notes for WILLIAM SCOTT LAND:
    April 7th 1883.
    Fossgate, Grosvenor Terrace, Bootham, and Clarence Street, York, Business Premises & Freehold Property for sale to be sold by Auction by Messrs. Acton & Acton at the White Swan Inn, Goodramgate on Tuesday, 17th April, l883 at 5 for 6 o'clock in the evening, Lot 1:  A freehold dwelling house and shop being No 25, Fossgate, in the City of York with the bakery therunto belonging on which the business of a Baker, Confectioner and Provision Dealer have been successfully carried on by the present owner, Mr. W. S. Land and his predecessors for upwards of 50 years.  The property has recently been rebuilt and the Bakery which contains 2 large ovens with 4 chambers above, thoroughly re-constructed, and there is every appliance on the premises for a purchaser carrying on an extensive business.
