Richard Petty

Richard was born in March 1870 in Sutton, Kildwick, Yorkshire, England.¹ Richard's father was Thomas Petty and his mother was Sarah Ann Gott. His paternal grandparents were Richard Petty and Joanna (Petty). He had a brother and two sisters, named Joseph Henry, Laura and Rhoda. He was the oldest of the four children.
