Mafalda was born about 1195.  Mafalda's father was King Sancho The 1. (The Populator) of The Portuguese House of Burgundy and her mother was Queen Consort Dulce of House Barcelona.  Her paternal grandparents were King Afonso The 1. (The Conqueror, The Founder and The Great) of The Portuguese House of Burgundy and Queen Consort Matilda of House Savoy; her maternal grandparents were Count Ramon Berenguer The 4. of House Barcelona and Queen Petronilla of House . She had a brother and a sister, named The Fat and Berengaria.  She was the second oldest of the three children.  She died on May 1st, 1256.
