Valdemar, known as The Young, was born about 1209.  The Young's father was King Valdemar The 2. (The Victorious or The Conqueror) of House Estridsen and his mother was Queen Consort Dagmar of The Přemyslid Dynasty.  His paternal grandparents are Valdemar The 1. and Sophia of Minsk. He had three half-brothers named Eric The 4., Abel and Christopher The 1..  He died on November 28th, 1231.
