Cristian The 9., known as The Father-in-Law of Europe, was born on April 8th, 1818 in Gottorf Castle, Schleswig, Duchy of Schleswig.  The Father-in-Law of Europe's father was Duke Friedich Frederick William Paul Leopold and his mother was Princess Louise Caroline.  His paternal grandparents are <Unknown> and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were Prince Charles of House Hesse-Kassel and Princess Louise.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 87 on January 29th, 1906 in Amalienborg Palace, Copenhagen, Denmark.
