Yehoshua was born in 1948.  Yehoshua's father was Mordechai Zisman and his mother was Hadasa Schpatz.  His maternal grandparents were  Menachem Mendel Schpatz and  Scheindel Yafa Reif.  He is the youngest of three children.  He has two sisters named Yosef and Malka.
