Frances was born about July 1784 and her baptism took place on July 4th, 1784 in Cutcombe, Somerset, England.1   Frances' father was Robert Coles and her mother was Elizabeth How.  She had two brothers and two sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named James, William, Joaney?, Mary and Joney.  She was the fifth oldest of the six children.
