Alice was born in 1792.  Alice's father was Thomas Higson and her mother was Esther Unknown.  Her paternal grandparents were George Higson and Ann Berry.  She had four brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, James, John, Henry, Esther, Esther, Betty, Ann and Esther.  She was the sixth oldest of the ten children.
