John NEWTON (Mewdon)

John was born about July 1766 in Exford, Somerset and his baptism took place on July 20th, 1766 in Exford, Somerset, Parish Church.¹ John's father was JOHN NEWTON and his mother was JOAN TAR. His paternal grandparents were HENRY NEWTON and MELIOR WINSBURSON?; his maternal grandparents were GEORGE TAR and ELIZABETH HUCKSTABLE. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Richard, Henry, WILLIAM, James, Mary and Joan. He was the oldest of the seven known children. He died about December 1816. He was buried on December 29th, 1816 in Exford, Somerset, Parish Church.¹
