James Harris

James was born about 1865 in West Anstey, Devon.¹ James' father was John Gaydon Harris and his mother was Sarah Mogford. His paternal grandparents were James Harris and Sally Gaydon; his maternal grandparents were John Mogford and Sarah. He had two brothers and six sisters, named John, William, Lucy, Mary, Ellen, Betsey, Jane and Salome. He was the sixth oldest of the nine children.
