Jane was born about October 1st, 1838 in Upcott, Somerset and her baptism took place on October 21st, 1838 in Withiel Florey Parish Church, Somerset.1 2   Jane's father was William Greenslade and her mother was Jane BAKER.  Her paternal grandfather was Thomas Greenslade and her paternal grandmother is Hannah Voices; her maternal grandparents were ROBERT BAKER and Frances  Burge. She had four brothers and two sisters, named John, Robert, William, James, Mary and Hannah.  She was the fourth oldest of the seven known children.
