Josepha was born on November 8th, 1835 in El Palau d'Anglesola (Pla d'Urgell). Lleida. Catalunya. and her baptism took place on November 9th, 1835 at El Palau d'Anglesola (Pla d'Urgell). Lleida. Catalunya. Església de Sant Joan Baptista conducted by priest Blasi Niubó.  Her godfather was Josep Serrano d'El Palau.  Josepha's father was Joan Fontanet Ibañez and her mother was Raimunda Solsona Fortuny.  Her paternal grandparents were Pau Fontanet Yyyy and Raymunda Ivañes Yyyy; her maternal grandparents were Joseph Solsona Yyyy and Joaquima Fortuny Yyyy. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Joan, Claudi, Antonio, Maria and Antònia.
