Dorothy outlived (her husband) by two decades. .... Dorothy passed away at age 89 on July 3, 2006. A memorial service was held two and a half months later, on Sept. 17, 2006, at the church where she had been a longtime member.

Betty I. (Minerd) Hutter, 86, of Pleasant Unity, died Monday, June 22, 2009, in Select Specialty Hospital, Latrobe. She was born June 4, 1923, in Jennerstown, a daughter of the late Ralph C. and Violet M. (Summy) Minerd. Prior to retirement, she worked as a custodian for Greater Latrobe School District and formerly worked at the Norvelt Clothing Factory. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edison Joseph Hutter; three brothers, Charles Jr., Robert and James Minerd; and two sisters, Dorothy Podraza and Marie Planett. She is survived by four children, Edward Joseph Hutter and his wife, Janet, of Pleasant Unity, Timothy A. Hutter and his wife, Phyllis, of Latrobe, David A. Hutter and his wife, Chris, of Salem, Ohio, and Deborah Hutter, at home; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation or viewing. Interment in Mt. Joy Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Township. Arrangements by GAUT-BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., Pleasant Unity.
