Benjamin's father was Jacob Sprecher and his mother was Louisa Janke (Sprecher). His paternal grandparents were Gottfried Sprecher and Anna Katharina Sokolosky (Sprecher). He had six brothers and four sisters, named Gottfried, Ferdinand, Christoph, Jacob, Samuel, Johann, Julianna, Justina, Katharina and Louise. He was the youngest of the eleven children.
