Daniel was born in September 1766.1  Daniel's father was Jacob Schneider and his mother was Maria Magdalena Bissinger (Schneider).  His maternal grandparents were Michael Bissinger and Anna Maria Mayer (Bissinger). He had five brothers and six sisters, named John, Jacob, Christian, Abraham, Lodewick, Besty, Magdalen, Ann, Anna, Barbara and Christiana.
