    Her tiny remains were laid to rest in what became the Minerd family plot at Alverton Cemetery west of Mt. Pleasant. A simple grave marker was placed there as a permanent memorial to her brief life.

    born on March 9, 1873, the daughter of Eli and Mary Ann (Baer) Minerd.

• Death Notes
  • Sadly, little daughter Maggie came down with a deadly case of diphtheria in the summer of 1876. She passed away on Aug. 24, 1876.
    She received a terse obituary in the local Mount Pleasant Dawn newspaper.  simply reads: "Miner: On Monday the 21st of diphtheria infant daughter of Eli of Bridgeport."
    
    Her tiny remains were laid to rest in what became the Minerd family plot at Alverton Cemetery west of Mt. Pleasant. A simple grave marker was placed there as a permanent memorial to her brief life.
    
    Later, Maggie would be joined there in death by her parents and brother William.

    Margaret "Maggie" A. Minerd was born on March 9, 1873, the daughter of Eli and Mary Ann (Baer) Minerd.
    
    Sadly, her span of days on earth were short. At the age of 3, Maggie came down with a deadly case of diphtheria in the summer of 1876. She passed away on Aug. 24, 1876.
