Alexander was born on March 16th, 1892 in Maybole.

- Born at 20 Ladyland Road, Maybole

Alexander's father was Archibald McIntyre and his mother was Mary Bell. His paternal grandparents were John McIntyre and Mary McQuarrie; his maternal grandparents were Alexander Bell and Margaret Gemmell Dunlop. He had a brother and a sister, named Matthew and Peggy. He died at the age of 23 on May 16th, 1915. His burial was in Vimy Memorial, Pas De Calais.
